My class this year is a group of kindergartners that tested slightly low on their entrance assessment. They are in our districts extended day kindergarten class to help them fill in the gaps. We focus mostly on literacy, writing, and a little number sense.
They are eager and excited to learn.
They have already shown, in a short time, that they can follow directions and get the task at hand finished. They work well as a group and also as individuals.
My Project
I am teaching a class this year as part of our districts extended day Kindergarten. This is a class that has been added to the school where I teach, therefore, I am starting from scratch on many levels. The biggest issue I am having is that my classroom literally only has the few things that I have brought with me. I am looking to provide some much needed manipulatives, puzzles, blocks and games to my classroom. My students have just about played with everything I have in my room multiple times already. I can tell they are getting bored with the same things over and over. I want to be able to provide a well rounded variety for them or my fear is that it will make for a long school year. I also want to provide many opportunities for a variety of ways to learn our curriculum. I appreciate any help you may be able to provide.
