Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a 6th grade teacher at a Title I school in San Pablo, California. A majority of the students at my school receive free or reduced lunch.
My students are energetic, enthusiastic, and resilient.
In order to maintain their love of reading and get them excited about education, it is crucial that they are interested in the books and materials in my classroom. My students' interests vary from basketball and soccer to chess and comic books.
In order to improve literacy scores and give my students the best experience possible, I am looking to expand my classroom library to fit the interests and abilities of all of my talented, intelligent, and hard-working students.
My Project
By donating to this project, you will be helping to increase the literacy of my students. In order to capture my students' interests, it is crucial that my classroom library is diverse and can appeal to my various students' hobbies and personalities.
I am hoping that by providing students with new books, they will become excited about the prospect of independent reading.
Furthermore, this will expand their vocabulary and allow them to thrive in other subjects. Every donation counts and will make a positive change in my classroom and in my students' education. Thank you for your time and consideration.
