Building a Classroom Library to Engage All Readers!

My students need fiction and nonfiction texts to further develop independent, small group, and large group reading.

My Students

I want to be able to provide my students with the best materials that will develop their reading skills. This is my first year in third grade, and my classroom library is lacking of books and other resources available to my students.

I have an amazing class of 21 third graders.

I love their passion for learning and always wanting more from me! My students love to read and talk about books with one another and myself. My students' favorite activity is to shop for books in the morning when they arrive in the classroom. They take pride in their book boxes and the reading materials they fill them with.

My Project

Through the use of this donation of books I will be able to have my students reading high interest books that are written so they can understand what they are reading. I am also asking for a series of sports books to keep reading alive for the boys in the classroom. Through the use of more reading materials my kids will be able to participate in classroom book clubs. I cannot wait for my students to be able to review books and make suggestions to their classmates. Overall, the fiction and nonfiction books that I am asking for are geared towards third grade readers, and this will offer more books to my kiddos!

Reading has always been a passion of mine, and I always had many books available to me.

I want to share this passion with my kiddos and have quality books that they can learn new information and take their imaginations to new places!
