My Students

After four years of courses dedicated toward education, it is finally my time to have my own classroom! I will be in a kindergarten classroom with about 25 students. I want my students to be actively involved in the construction of their own knowledge and I need basic materials to do so!

Since this is my first job, I do not have a lot of money to put into a fully stocked classroom library.

I want to foster a love or reading and literacy in my students. In order to do that, my students will need a warm inviting space to access books on all subjects and of all reading levels.

My Project

The book sets I am requesting, the Classic Grade Level Library and the Jennifer Serrevallo Go-To-Books-Kindergarten, for my classroom library will provide opportunities for students in my very first class to read.

My students will build a love of reading and literacy through access to the wonderful texts provided in the collections listed.

Students in my class will enjoy these books through read alouds as well as independent reading. I am excited to introduce my students to some of my favorite books and even more excited for them to develop favorites of their own. These book collections will build a foundation for a library that travel with me throughout my teaching career.
