This year we are a class of twenty-one talented students with many diverse strength and needs. Most of these superstar children are English language learners coming to our class with different home backgrounds and prior school experience. For some of them they are being raised by their grandparents who do such a wonderful job caring for them. Many of them receive services out of the classroom to support their English learning, but for the majority of the school day they are in the general education classroom(I have no paraprofessional to assist). Some of them also receive literacy support to increase their reading and phonics skills. They are from different ethnic backgrounds, most are Asian. Our school uses technology to help all of students with English learning vocabulary and literacy/math.
My students are hard-working and arrive on my doorstep everyday with a smile on their faces.
I want to provide them with every opportunity to succeed in the future. These bright superstars are the leaders of tomorrow. I want to provide all that I can for them to ensure success in all they do.

My Project
The classroom Chromebooks will be used in a technology center in my classroom and will be available throughout the day. I already have the tables set up and ready to be utilized for the Chromebooks. We just need the computers!
The technology center will always be open for them to use.
However, the computers will especially be helpful during literacy and math centers when groups are rotating. That means every child will benefit from them. The learning can be individualized and tailored to their learning needs and will foster independent learning. I will be teaching children in small groups while centers are in place. This technology center will be a great addition to our first grade classroom.
