This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

WE ARE THE BUILDERS OF TOMORROW! We are a wonderful Transitional Kindergarten class, full of energy and desire to achieve! We are located in a low income community in Southern California with a variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Hands-on activities are extremely important part of our Transitional Kindergarten curriculum.

The children can only take so many worksheets and so they need resources for hands-on activities that require them to manipulate with their hands and provide them with a different mode of learning.

My Project

Many of my students enter school with undeveloped fine motor skills, making the process of learning to draw, trace and write very hard for them. So, this year I have begun a new daily activity known as Fine Motor Workshop. These workshops will integrate fine motor skills with math, language arts and science. By having a full set of Legos, the children will an outstanding way to build up the small muscles in their hands, assisting them in the skill of writing. They will be able to create and learn to build mazes, towers and anything else they desire to make!
