Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Awesome! That's us. We are a grades 2-4 class of diverse and motivated learners with Autism. We attend RES in the urban Allentown School District. We love and learn best through hands on activities and projects. Donations to help enhance our classroom would be sincerely appreciated.
My Project
Handwriting is important for school success, yet many with ASD have handwriting impairments. Because writing is so difficult for my students, it is also an activity they try to avoid. Fun, engaging activities will encourage students to practice writing skills while also improving their fine motor abilities.
Magic Sketch is designed for children to trace shapes, letters, numbers, even their names!
Pencil grips help with correct finger placement, which leads to more productive writing. The Squiggle Pen and paper punches will give the students novel practice with classroom tools. Fidget toys, like Gumfun, Fidget Maze, Squeezy Set, Magnets, Sensory Stones, and Yuck E ball will help build hand strength and the muscles needed for writing. The Rock and Rap CD sets activities to music, breaking down writing tasks and adding to the excitement of learning. The activities in this project will help my students learn to love writing.
