My students need a storage shelf for blocks and manipulatives that is safe and sturdy.
My classroom is full of 18 excited kindergartners! These students come to school each day looking forward to learning and experiencing new things! I enjoy providing my students with the opportunities they may not have had before!
Many students in our school come from lower income households.
My goal is to provide all of my students with the opportunity to be successful regardless of their background situation.
Our school is a welcoming environment and we work hard to ensure our students are safe and excited about learning! We use a school wide positive behavior plan to encourage our students to make good choices, to be respectful and responsible, as they continue to grow and further their education.
My students are hands-on learners who love exploring and building new and exciting creations. I have worked hard to incorporate more “play with a purpose” learning stations into my classroom. These stations engage students with multiple learning styles while also encouraging independent thinking, cooperation and team building. I believe that through the opportunity for students to be involved in a variety of centers and stations, students are able to use their imagination in learning and apply new skills in different ways.
My students are kindergarteners in a low income school, with 80% of students receiving free or reduced lunch and 100% of students receiving free breakfast.
Our school is located in a rural area in southeast Tennessee. We have limited monetary support needed to furnish our classrooms with such items as shelving and additional materials for learning stations.
This shelf will provide my students with a safe and sturdy storage space in our classroom blocks and building center. The current shelf we use is made of flimsy plastic. It has removable legs and easily comes apart. This causes a problem and safety issue as the shelf frequently tips over while students are in the building station.
