This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Help my students learn to rhyme, build words, and build sentences with new materials that are not falling apart!
My students attend kindergarten in a Title I Elementary School in NC.
We have a large Hispanic population, and the majority of our students are from low-income families. Most have come into kindergarten not knowing letter names or the difference between letters, words, and sentences. They are a very respectful group of students and are eager to learn. They are very excited about learning and working. I would like some new supplies and activities to encourage them even more.
My Project
With the stamp pads the students will be able to use our letter stamps to build words we practice. They will also be able to use the word stamps to create sentences. The 3-letter and 4-letter word building puzzles will help them sound out words and help their spelling improve. The 3-letter puzzles will help my lower students, and the 4-letter words will help my higher students. The rhyming picture puzzles will help those that are having difficulty rhyming. Due to the language differences, rhyming is especially difficult for our Hispanic population. For those that are able to rhyme, the rhyming sentence puzzles will help reinforce rhyming and allow them to practice reading at the same time.
Please help me provide new, sturdy puzzles that are not easily ripped and torn to reinforce spelling words and rhyming.
Many of the activities I have for my students to practice I have made by hand and are falling apart. I would love to see their faces light up as they get new activities to help them learn.
