Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are special because they come with a myriad of knowledge, skills and experiences! Our school is considered a Title I, Level 4 school, with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch each day.
The students our school will be encouraged to enter the schools International Baccalaureate Program prior to graduation.
The supplies used in these projects will help my students expand on their knowledge, skills and experiences and help them get ready for the rest of their educational journey.
My Project
My students have not had formal vocabulary as part of their curriculum in many years. With this project, I am trying to bridge the gap between learning and fun by allowing my students to have the option to compete in classroom incentive game days with SCRABBLE!
I know my students will love to compete, and this is a great way for them to boost some basic level math and master some tricky vocabulary.
I have already procured boards, but I am in need of different colored sets of tiles to keep each game fair, and a few dictionaries for my moderators!
