My junior high (and even high school) students are all about having a fun and creative learning environment. We are an extremely small school district in an agricultural town located in Iowa.
Most of these students wake up early in the morning, even earlier than a majority of their teachers, to do farm chores with fellow family members.
Even though they wake up early for morning duties, they still have time for their extra-curricular activities.
It amazes me at how much energy they still have throughout the day after everything they do in the morning and night before!
All of my students are so different in a number of different ways and one way they are able to show their individuality is by reading a variety of books.
Some of my students enjoy mystery and thrillers, and others enjoy fantasy, history, or romance.
By building our classroom library my students will be able to expand their reading knowledge and dive into different genres. Some may find out that they enjoy not only fantasy, but thrillers as well. Other students may realize they are a romantic at heart, but still enjoy a good historical novel every now and again.
