My students are inquisitive, honest, and eager to learn. They are coming to school for the first time, and they are excited, and ready to learn and grow! I am trying to create an environment for them that is safe, engaging, and inviting. Kindergarten kiddos need an opportunity to play as well as learn how to interact appropriately with one another. They are not only learning about being a student, but also how to be a good citizen and work together with others.
My Project
Young learner's need hands on materials to help them explore and learn. They will use these manipulatives during our literacy and math center time. The materials and games will also help them learn to work together. As a new Kindergarten teacher, I need more materials that encourage play, team work, and creativity. They also need a place to store the books they are reading. Each kiddo will have their own book bin to use to practice reading their just right books. These bins are very sturdy and will be able to be used for many years. They will know exactly where to put the books that are just right for them to use during reading time.
