My Students

60% of the students in my class lost their home and belongings in hurricane Harvey. In addition, they lost their classroom too. We began school a month later than planned at a local church in town.

My students are brave and adaptable.

These are just a few words I could use to describe them. They have embraced this year and have made the best out of the traumatic time in their short little lives. I cannot say enough good things about this sweet little class.

My Project

This stem station will allow my students to explore in a center setting with each other and have a safe place to keep their matierials. Our class has ten learning stations set up with the opportunity for learning through play in each station when they complete a "job" each day. The students are manipulating and learning in eight of the ten stations on the floor with little to no storage area for their supplies.

Hurricane Harvey took all of our shelving units with him when he hit town.

Now, we are stationed in a Sunday school room with little to no shelving. The students center supplies are scattered around the room on the floor. This stem shelf station would promote higher level thinking skills and provide a safe and orgnaized place to learn and explore through play for my students.
