Help me give my students a printer that would allow them to print photos from our robotics laptop or their smartphones. A color printer would help them tremendously to improve the quality of their engineering notebooks.
My students are very energetic, creative middle schoolers who enjoy building and programming VEX robots. This is their third year participating in the VEX robotics competition and each year they have worked harder and learned more from each other and other robotics teams. My students are self taught coders and builders who work together to build the best robot to be successful in vex competition. For my students robotics is their middle school sport and they always strive to be the best team on the field.
A major component of competitive robotics is the creation of an engineering notebook. The notebook is like a journal documenting the team’s work throughout the robotics season. My students will use a color printer to document their building progress and performance in robotics events. Being able to print from the robotics team laptop or their smartphones will assist them in making a better, more engaging engineering notebook. Their notebooks would be filled with photos showing the stages of building, areas of concern, changes made, and so much more. The photos would allow for the students to make accurate descriptions of their progress in their notebooks.
