After a loooonnnggg year of virtual and hybrid learning, my 2nd graders are ready for a normal year! They are excited about hands-on activities, group work, and accessing our classroom library.
My students have been missing out on easily-accessible, physical books to read this year.
It has been a challenge for us to engage in independent reading with fidelity, an activity that is vital to students' reading success! I have a class full of eager learners who are reading to grow their reading skills!
My ultimate goal as an educator is to instill a great love of books and reading in all my students. My very favorite part of any day is when we do read-alouds together. I am even more excited for our read-aloud time in the new school year.
With students finally back in the building, we will be able to have exciting and enriching discussions!
Whenever I introduce a new topic, I always look to a great picture book to help me. The books in this project will guide and aid our discussions. Many of these books will share new concepts, experiences, and cultures with my students. Helping my students expand their understanding of the world and others around them is of critical importance.
