My students need these insect tools to help them with learning about the tiny creatures in our world. The Backyard Books will help them to learn about different kinds of bugs and many facts!
We are a diverse group. We have many different socioeconomic and academic levels. I want them to have a "thirst for knowledge" and to have easy access to what they need. Students come to the library for many different purposes besides checking out books. They also visit to research information, access programs on tablets, and create with technology. They also are able to have access to a Makerspace. Our school services kids Pre K-6th grade and provides academics, a hardworking group of teachers and a safe learning environment. My elementary provides tremendous support for the teachers but most importantly, for the students and their families.
My Project
Wouldn't it be great to get an up-close look at bugs in our world safely? This project would help us do just that. The items chosen for this project include a super set of bugs that look like real bugs, but are made of flexible plastic. The project also includes a real life cycle kit to raise and release ladybugs!
The books included in this project are age appropriate to teach all of our students the facts they need to know about several different kinds of insects.
The insect posters are wonderful photographs of real insects in their natural habitats.
