My Pre-K students are from all backgrounds. They attend our Title I PreK, Monday-Friday for a half day. We are in a diverse neighborhood with students of many different cultures that attend Pre-K. Our school services PreK-5th grades. We have over 400 students in our school. Many are free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch students. Our Pre-K services the neediest students in our community.
Despite the many challenges my students may face, they are eager to learn.
They love school and can't wait to see what we are learning and doing each day.
My Project
My students need more opportunities to work with nature and insects in our PreK Classroom. These insect farms and habitats will allow them to study the lives of insects up close and personal. The ant counting game with help us add math into our study of insects. I know they will love looking at the embedded insects at the light table. The baskets will be used in our cubbies to store their materials in a more natural looking environment. All of the materials that I am requesting for our PreK classroom will allow my students to experience and be surrounded by nature and Science in the classroom.
