As a first year ELA/Social Studies teacher, it's my goal to provide my students with the necessary materials to enhance their academic abilities and facilitate their comprehension. I have a diverse group of students from military families that need a welcoming and supportive classroom environment. My students are faced with many challenging circumstances that pertain to military life including family separation, transitions, and other life changing events, which ultimately have an impact on students' academic performance.
My students love learning and flourish when given the opportunity to try new things.
I believe in providing them with a safe place to grow and giving them all the necessary resources to accomplish this!
My Project
My students are very interested in learning about insects from around the world and why they are so important for our ecosystem. We need more books in our classroom that teach students about real world concepts!The books within this project will give my students and inside look at butterflies, bees, and many more insects that play a role in our lives.
I want to inspire my students to see insects in a new way and be able to teach others about their exciting discoveries.
This project will allow my students to learn about the life cycle, food chain, and how insects help our plants. The biggest take away I want my students to learn, is how non-fiction texts are structured and how to use text features to find information about insects.
