My Students

Help us eliminate one of the safety risks our students face daily upon entering the classroom. We have a high energy movement class and the clutter around the perimeter can be dangerous. Help our students store their belonging in a safe and secure space by donating lockers!

My students are beginning dance students located in urban North Carolina.

We lack the funds for things beyond the bare necessities and many of the "luxuries" are donated by outside corporations. The students here are more talented than any beginning dancers I have ever seen. They go "all in" when learning new material and they thrive in this culturally rich environment that is dance.

My Project

The lockers I am requesting will be the beginning of a classroom transformation. These lockers will open up usable floor space for the dance students to use. With adequate storage space the students will be free from the daily floor clutter that they could potential slip on. Without the fear of tripping over a notebook or possibly something worse, students will be able to dance more freely. They can learn the entire dance experience and the endless possibilities of the performing arts.

A donation to this project will not only improve the overall classroom appearance, it will prevent injuries, it will provide underprivileged students with some of the same amenities others share, and it will make the environment more suitable for learning the oldest art form there is... DANCE!
