Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school services middle to low-income students. Many of our students are coming from a nearby housing project. This year we have many students who come from foster homes and single parent families.

We have many students who receive counseling for many different issues.

Some need to learn to get along with others and have empathy towards their classmates.

I love the fact that they are resilient and deep down they want to be a better person and student.

My Project

I want to use the Buddy Bench so no kids at our school feel they are by themselves or have no one to talk to. I also want to have the "bullies" become ambassadors of the Buddy Bench. I will work with them on their job responsibilities. I feel this will help them too.

The Buddy Bench has been getting positive responses from kids where schools have implemented it and I'm hoping we will have the same outcome.

Our kids deserve a chance.

I believe in these kids and want them to all have a friend or to never feel that they are by themselves with no friends.
