My students need hands-on science opportunities such as a Kindergarten-friendly microscope, real specimen examples of spiders and insects, an interactive Science discovery station, and manipulatives for difficult topics such as Earth Science and Nutrition.

I teach a Kindergarten class that has many English language learners in a high poverty area in Florida.

We need more hands-on science! To make science come alive for my students, I am hoping to set up an exploration center in our classroom.

An exploration center in our classroom will allow students to develop a curiosity, practice a skill or concept, and extend their learning while also making Earth and Life Science come alive in our classroom! We would love to be able to see, touch, and feel bugs, plants, rocks etc. instead of seeing pictures. An exploration center, feel and discover bags, food & nutrition manipulatives, and a Kindergarten-friendly microscope would all help us to accomplish this.

Your help will not only make our science time come to life, but will also help develop important and difficult vocabulary for our language learners.
