Budding Inventors Change the World with Arduino Circuit Boards
My students need Arduino microcontrollers, programmable circuit boards used to build digital devices and interactive objects that can automate and control things digitally and physically, including sensors, lights, timers, electronics, and much, much more!

My Students
I teach 180 wonderful students in a small town in Northern CA. Many of my students come from disadvantaged backgrounds and don't have access to the hands-on tools to really enhance their education.
Our school just added STEM electives last year and we are beginning to learn what the kids respond to and what doesn't engage them.
These kids are super hands-on (aren't they all?) and really enjoy making things and manipulating materials to solve problems. They are full of empathy, ambition, creativity, and kindness for each other and the world at large.
My Project
My students thrive when given opportunities to work on projects that challenge them to solve problems and use creativity to make and invent. I want to include Arduino microcontrollers in my STEM Makerspace classroom because tinkering with these devices helps kids learn about electronics, coding and programming, robotics, and so much more.
Experimenting with these concepts helps kids to develop problem solving skills and creativity, not to mention fortitude, persistence, and ingenuity, qualities that will help them to see the world, and themselves, in a different light.
The possibilities are endless with Arduino: program it to automatically feed the cat, water the plants, turn on a light with the TV remote control, automate a self-dispensing drink machine, create an alarm clock from recycled materials...the only limit to what you can do with an Arduino is your imagination...and my students have plenty of that!
