This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of learners who come from all over the city to attend our public Montessori school, which is one of four in the city. They range in age from 3-6 years old. They come to school with varied interests and are excited to learn more in the classroom, garden and computer lab!

These learners are always looking to move and explore.

This is my second year with this group of students, and I am so excited to continue the great journey!

My Project

103 children always ask me interesting questions like "what's the difference between a crocodile and an alligator?" "how does a fox hunt?" "can we watch a frog eat bugs?" Whenever I try to play a video to learn answers, children eagerly crowd around my small laptop. We need a projector so everyone can learn more about environment. We also want to explore small pieces of our world that we can't always see with our eyes. A microscope will help us learn more about our world. When we take our learning outside, we need binoculars and a bug kit to spot birds and critters.
