Help me give my students a variety of art supplies so that they can create a wide variety of media. In this cart are the materials for my students to explore watercolors, sculpture, and mask making.
My students hunger for experiences. Most of them have never been more than 25 miles from their home. Art transports them to new ideas and worlds. Art supplies are not part of my school's supply inventory. It is important for students to have the right tools to learn artistic techniques and to work with a variety of media.
Our third graders are low-income/poverty students that need a variety of learning opportunities to expand their knowledge and become 21st Century Learners with the ability to integrate information and problem solve.
Many of my students come from challenging home situations and have faced many obstacles in their lives; yet school can be a safe place for my students and creating a nurturing environment within the classroom is key for developing lifelong learners. Art allows these students to be creative and develop both sides of their brain. My idea is that they see themselves as artists, think creatively, and take on any challenge that comes their way.
My Project
These art materials will allow my students to explore their creative brain through art. Too often today's children spend countless hours behind video screens instead of working with objects. With these supplies, third graders will be able to make sculptures, paint with watercolors and explore resist art projects.
Providing students the ability to explore their creative brains allows the development of the whole child.
These students will be able to integrate art with computers through the exploration of sculpture through kinetic art. My students will be able to be inspired by the Masters as they learn watercolor techniques. Most importantly students can appreciate artistic endeavors of the past while imaging art of the future.
