Help me give my students basic art supplies to let their creativity flow in art class. By asking elders to come to the classroom, I hope to instill some insight of their Native Art to the classes.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
I teach in a classroom that is very diverse in abilities. Many of my students are special needs, as we are an inclusion school. Some of the outside factors that touch these students’ lives are ADD/ADHD, Autism and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
When given an environment where they can flourish creativitly, it helps boost their academic scores as well.
Many of the students are extremely creative and seem to have an artistic flair. It is my sincere hope to be able to give my students a classroom with art supplies that will help them grow in the arts as well as academically.
We have not had an art block in the elementary for a few years, this year that creative time has been added to the weekly schedule. That being said, our supplies are quite low and have recently been covered by the classroom teacher.
I have witnessed some of my budding artists over the years and I look forward to having supplies that will help them grow their artistic abilities even further.
Art is a large part of the Native culture and it is my hope to be able to have materials available for them to use.
Even though some may not be academic students in the core subjects, art gives them a chance to shine in another area.
