Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every day my students walk in the door ready for an exciting adventure in learning. Their learning disabilities never dull their passion for learning about new people and places.
My students are very creative, and they love it when we do projects in the classroom.
They would love to have the opportunity to do many more of these, but our lack of supplies poses a problem.
My goal is to help them achieve their potential and begin to see all the ways they may use their talents. The world will benefit from their kindness and their unique gifts.
My Project
While recently studying the ecosystem, my students bemoaned the fact that we did not have any art supplies with which we could create sample ecosystems.
My classroom is warm, friendly, bright and cheery, filled with wonderful, eager-to-learn students, but we have very few supplies.
With the markers, pencils, glue, glue gun, glue sticks, scissors and dry erase markers, my students will be able to create projects all week long, allowing them to extend their learning and use their hands to manipulate the materials. Since many of my students struggle with traditional reading and writing experiences, these supplies will give them the perfect opportunity to showcase their understanding of topics and dazzle others with their artistic talents.
