Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My wonderful students are Special Education 3 and 4 years olds in a public pre-school. They are a group of nice loving children who require extra help to be successful in school. Their favorite things to play with were vehicles, wood puzzles, animals, and the play kitchen. They need extra exposure to sensory items as well as academics. Toys that encourage academic skills as well as social interactions are greatly needed. Any supplies would be fantastic to help them learn, socialize, and succeed.
My Project
I am creating buckets filled with activities for a single student to use at a time at their own desk. In today's environment, I need to teach students with individual activities they can do independently at their own work station. Materials need to be fun, engaging, cleanable, and educational. I have asked for a collection of counting, sorting, writing, letter/sound recognition, and art activities to engage students. Due to COVID, I am not able to use a good amount of materials I currently have in my classroom. Very young children learn best with hands-on manipulatives. Please help me help my students succeed.
