I teach 450 talented young musicians in a rural area. My students are on the go and always ready to try new ways of expressing themselves through music. They love anything that is hands-on and interactive. I am looking at different ways to connect the students to different genres of music and exciting ways to play it. I give my students voice and choice in the music classroom. I am striving to get new equipment in the classroom so that students have a more personalized learning experience.
Bucket ball drumming integrates aerobics and rhythmic drumming together to make an exciting learning experience. Last year I was able to borrow some exercise balls from a local school and my students absolutely loved it. All students played and were actively engaged in all lessons. Even my students who normally resist participating in music were actively engaged and having fun in music class.
Bucket ball drumming adds excitement and energy to music class!
Students will learn correct sticking patterns and techniques as well as reading rhythms. Students will create new rhythmic patterns and are able to compose their own music using the equipment. The equipment I am requesting is 40 exercise balls that are extra strength so that students may drum, bounce, and sit on while making music or performing routines. I am also requesting rhythm sticks to be used for playing on the balls and a mesh net that can be secured on the wall to hold the balls when we are not using them.
