Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 22 Tiger Cubs in my class this year. They range in all areas of learning and understanding from pre-kindergarten to fourth grade levels. Some of them are very active, while others are happy to sit quietly and not be noticed. There are many challenges to this class due to this wide range of abilities and involvement. I love their curiosity and desire to learn or explore new things. I am always looking for new ways to open their eyes and create new experiences for them.
My Project
The materials donated will expose my students to art. They will be able to create works of art using paints, paper, stamps, and more! The materials will be used to help students explore their own artistic talents by using the materials freely.
Integrating art into the classroom has many benefits.
My students will develop social skills, problem solving skills, and learn to make decisions through art. Art will also help my students develop motor skills through using paintbrushes, scissors, and other art materials. Having art materials in the classroom will inspire the students to create works of art and develop self confidence through making risk taking decisions.
