Hooray! This project is fully funded
I teach math to sixth-grade students at a small middle school in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. My sixth graders are very well behaved, and I have great classroom management in place. I am always exploring ways to get my sixth graders motivated during small-group conferencing, but I do not have many materials for them.
Many of my students want to learn how to play chess. My goal is to teach them how to play, and then allow them to play each other while I conference with others in small groups. I feel that small-group conferencing is of critical importance, but I wish I had stimulating games or activities for the other children.
I hope to receive ten chess boards of decent quality. This way, 20 of my students could be engaged in chess while I am conferencing with the other 6 or 7 of them.
Thank you for your consideration.
