My students need a diverse set of books to add to our classroom library. Many of these books will be used as read-alouds in order to discuss important topics, historical events, kindness, diversity, etc.

My Students

Do you remember getting excited about picking out a book from the school library as a child? Do you remember how excited you were to read the next book in a thrilling series? The students in my class feel this excitement each time they look through our classroom library and find the next book they get to read and enjoy.

My students are avid readers and enthusiastic learners.

They are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. Each child in my class is unique and requires an individualized approach to learning, along with a different set of books that will reach and inspire them on a personal level. In addition, many of the students within my school are English language learners, which means books are increasingly important to my students and are truly valued. I am so grateful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!

My Project

These books will spark a love of reading and learning within the students in my classroom. My classroom library is the most popular place in our room and our daily read-aloud and independent reading time is a treasure to each and every student in my room. The students cannot wait for the time to come where they all gather on the carpet to listen to a story read-aloud by their teacher. We take the time to discuss the message and lessons that can be taken away from each book we read. Students are then able to relax and read a book of their choosing. As third graders, they are making the transition from learning to read to reading to learn. What a vital stage in their educational journey! It is so important that I continue to foster a love of learning in my students, not only so they love to read, but to set them up for success all year long and in their future. Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care. All of these books have been chosen with my students and their goals in mind!

With these new books, my students will learn valuable lessons and continue their love of reading!

They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading.
