With every new year it always amazes me how many bright, talented children come through my doors each year. My third graders are bursting with creativity and full of questions about all of the wonders around them. Even after 19 years of teaching, their energy and enthusiasm continues to inspire me.
One of the joys of being a teacher is working to harness all of this incredible potential with project- based opportunities and innovative teaching methods.
I am dedicated to the future of our children.
By most standards our school is small with approximately 350 students; however, we have had outsized success with student achievement due to a talented, dedicated staff and a supportive principal. Despite being a Title 1 school, our funding levels are not as high as other schools with higher enrollments. Yet, with the help of generous donors, an inspired faculty, and parent volunteers, we continue to thrive. We're the best little school in CA!
Each day my third graders are engaged in a variety of writing activities, math assignments, social studies projects and science inquiries. Pencils are continually breaking and wearing down; and unfortunately, so are the inexpensive pencil sharpeners that are provided by our school. All too often, children need to share pencils when the sharpeners break down and I need to borrow pencil sharpeners from other teachers.
Your donation will save precious class time by allowing a continual supply of sharpened pencils for my students.
Having an adequate pencil supply will make a world of difference in my classroom by increasing productivity and allowing my students to focus on what is most important, learning!
