The students start each day with a curiosity to learn and an excitement to push each other to grow in their understanding of the world around them.
The students in the Disney Musicals in Schools after-school club are on a mission to flourish and strengthen their elementary years in their pursuit of their musical theater dreams, most for the very first time. Students at our school are part of a diverse community of learners who seek understanding, love, and accountability from one another as teammates.
As we practice and prepare for our third ever Disney musical, the energy and hum of the actors, singers, and dancers onstage and backstage is contagious.
As the director this year, with my colleagues and with the support of the school, we are motivated to create a spectacular performance for the community. The Jungle Book musical production is set for March 20 & 21st on our very own stage. Through this experience, students are finding confidence, pride, and deepening friendships and self-awareness. The play connects students to our world and community, all while showcasing the creativity and talent of the students.
My Project
After we were able to fund our first project in one day, we were blown away from the support we received. There was so much more we needed, but since that was our first project, we we not sure how much money we could raise. These are the other things that we needed but didn't add.
We already received the first 4 headsets and would like to mic the other 4 main roles.
We also need a couple of more costumes that we cannot make on our own. The rest of the items on the list are essentials need to tie up the ends of the show.
