Mr. Baier from Sumter SC is requesting musical instruments through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a set of the Broadway Favorites Book to perform for community events and utilize the book in the classroom.

My students are my pride and joy. They are some of the most dedicated and driven individuals I've ever met. People ask me how I tolerate teaching middle school and my response is always, "If you came to our class for one day, you would understand."
All of my students come from a diverse background but yet we all have one goal in common.
We all love making beautiful music. There isn't one student I teach, that I wouldn't gladly spend the entire day working with.
It isn't all fun and games though, we work hard. We are so grateful to have a 90 minute class each day, so we use every second of the time. This allows us to create beautiful music that makes parents and community members' jaws drop every time we perform. It is such a point of pride to know that limited funds, don't have to mean limited success. However, I know with the right support, I could bring my program to an even higher mark!
Since our program has grown so much in the past few years some of our library is just not big enough to support a classroom of 80 students. Right now we currently own a set of Broadway Favorites for a class of about 20 students. This makes the set basically useless in a large classroom setting. These books are so valuable to teaching and get the kids excited about playing.
The pieces can be used for community performances, sight reading practice, concert performance, or even small group collaboration.
We need to have a significantly larger number of copies before we can legally use the book in any capacity.
Our school falls in a Title 1 District and has very few funds to commit to the music classroom. They are extremely supportive when it comes to letting me do what is best for the kids, but the monetary commitment to the program falls extremely short. Buying these books out of my "budget" would almost drain the entire amount I am allotted for a single year.
