Please gift my classroom with an HP laptop and speakers so students can participate in a plethora of learning experiences and be actively engaged throughout classroom instruction.
My seventh graders come from all walks of life.
Our middle school’s diverse group ranges from high socio-economic to low socio-economic status learners. Despite their various levels of capabilities, their interests and efforts are similar. Most students want to succeed academically and socially; in addition, they want to excel with 21st Century learning and their extra-curricular activities. I want to take their learning one step further and give them the opportunity to be active and engaged learners in class.
Can you imagine having a computer that is almost older than your students? My kids affectionately call our classroom computer "the dinosaur." While our laptop has given us many years of dedicated service, he has grown incredibly slow and is almost impossible to use. My seventh graders would love to retire our old dinosaur computer and upgrade to a new HP laptop and speakers.
My Project
My students absolutely love using technology in the classroom, so I know if we had a new laptop that processed data quickly and did not kick us off the Internet, my kids would be able to do so much more. In addition, the speakers would help them to hear videos, audio clips, and more.
A new HP laptop would greatly enhance the everyday routine in our reading and language arts classroom. My students would use the laptop to complete research projects, create podcasts, work on webquests, type essays, work in literature circles, and more. All of the aforementioned activities would be much more effective if they were done on a new laptop. I know that by utilizing this new technology, my kids would learn more, increase their overall comprehension, and would be more apt to be lifelong learners.

We desperately need a working computer. The laptop would broaden my students' horizons and increase their overall learning, and the speakers would allow the learners to hear pertinent content. Your donations are greatly appreciated!
