A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students live on the Georgia coast. They enjoy learning and love learning in a hands-on way.
My students are active and fun.
They enjoy all subjects but especially reading. My students do a reader’s workshop method for reading and they enjoy using trade books to enhance their reading instruction.
My students attend an elementary school where the motto "growing, learning, changing the world" which is applied to all subjects. Our school is also a Title l school. Although, this may mean that my students could have economic difficulties, they do not let this hinder their love for having fun, and most of all, having fun while learning.
My Project
Second graders are at a fun age where they soak up learning like a sponge. They love learning about new characters in series books, new people of all backgrounds in biographies, and new topics in nonfiction books.
To broaden our world, reading is a must!
Second grade students need to see it all. Biographies about people such as Jackie Robinson, Simone Biles, Martin Luther King Jr will help my students learn about new people that have made the world a better place. Series books such as Owl Diaries, The Bad Guys, and Dog Man will help my students read chapter books on their grade level (and make them laugh, too!). Nonfiction books about land forms and the states of matter will help my students gain knowledge in second grade science topics.
By donating to this project, you are helping my second grade students widen their horizons by learning about people that have changed the world, new science topics, and laughing with series fiction books. I tell my students daily "The more you read, the better you get". I firmly believe this, and know that these books will capture my students' attention and broaden their reading horizons!
