Help me give my students an opportunity to meet the playwright of "Emilia" and an expert dramaturge of this play. This would lead to a discussion on Arts' Equity.

I teach at a very dynamic, well rounded, collaborative performing arts high school. Donations are the reasons we are able to uphold a standard of performance that reflects conservatory and college readiness training. Our department is not only highly skilled we also teach eclectic students with multiple skills and talents. Students achieve college-ready scores by respecting the teaching happening in our building, which means students carry very heavy and plenty of textbooks. Including reading multiple plays for their arts major, our students have talent that meets and exceeds performance standards. Every opportunity that students are able to incorporate research, visual inspirations, or readings from various types of media, they do it with pleasure and expertise.
The students love performing for their families and community members, yet students do not have a lot of exposure to various theater companies, professionals, or creative career option.
With different families creating our school community, students can't always afford continuing practice or experiences with master specialty teachers. The performing arts department has organized materials and opportunities for all, which means we are always looking for strategies in incorporating technology into our daily plans and practice.
My senior students will be presenting the play, "Emilia" by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, toward the end of April. My students have engaged in research and character development that have helped them create authentic choices about portraying some of these real people in British history. A recent director, Sarah Goodall, who also attended the same school as Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, will be the dramaturge for this piece.
My students would have an opportunity to ask in-depth questions about character development, dialects, and the history around Shakespeare's London.
Additionally, Ms.Goodall would provide context for Women’s rights, advocacy, and solidarity. She would be able to speak to how plays and theater are commissioned and valued in London and provide a context of why this play is so powerful. Additionally, she would share how we learn to share stories like Emilia Lanier, and impactful women who we’re silenced in society due to their gender and how we continue to advocate for equity and equality in the workforce and in the Arts. She would return to be part of a feminist panel that we are having in April along with other volunteers to speak to the senior class about equity and equality.
