I teach at a middle school with a diverse student population including 48% low-income and nearly 20% English Learners. Students in my class speak at least 9 different languages at home.
This project will enable my 7th and 8th students a means of accessing their classwork and communicate and work collaboratively with their peers; or work independently on their documents in an offline mode.
Many students in my class lack access to devices at home which inhibits them in completing their assigned homework or work on collaborative work. By providing an access to Chromebooks that can be loaned out, I am looking towards opportunity to continue their learning after school by having access to the devices. This project will enable students to envision their creativity through exploration of art and design by brainstorming and creating individual designs using 3Doodler.

My Project
My students need Chromebooks to be checked out from the classroom so that they can take their learning from school to home. The requested Chromebooks will provide opportunity for students who lack media devices at home due to economic reasons and be able to apply their learning at home. Last year was the first time that students were able to check out Chromebook homes in order to complete their missing work or if they happen to be absent. I was really impressed the initiative and the responsibility taken by the students in completing their work.
This project will enable me to add three additional Chromebooks to the class library of devices and provide resources to the students in my computer science class.
