Mr. Jablo from Chicago IL is requesting musical instruments through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students access to a hands-on music experience during virtual learning, by providing guitars to all of our middle school kids so they can grow with the power of music and enrich their lives!

Our school is often the first place that many of my students have the opportunity to play instruments and read music. My students are beautiful and brilliant - and they are moved by music. Every year prior to this, my students have worked together to bring music alive - in rock bands, in student singing groups, and in solos. Students have played at assemblies and events outside of the school. For example, my students have played at outdoor festivals and at Little Kids Rock Jamfest at Reggie's Rock Club in Chicago. I try very hard to give my students a hands-on learning experience with music. This year that seems more important than ever.
This project is all about learning from home! By funding this project, you will support music learning for all of our middle school kids. If you have ever played an instrument, you know what a powerful experience it can be to learn how to play an instrument and read music.
With instruments in hand at home, I will teach them, virtually, (and eventually in person!) how to play chords, scales, and songs that they love.
They will have these instruments for the duration of their school year at our school, and they will be available to many more kids in the future. This is one way that I can make online learning more meaningful.
