My students need to be able to see the French language used in an authentic, comprehensible manner. These magazines and writing materials will help them get there!
I teach French 1, 3 Honors, and AP at a public magnet school. My students are wonderfully diverse in every way and I try to bring them the world on a daily basis. I’m looking to build a French library with books at all different levels and materials to help me try a method of teaching called CI (comprehensible input). Thank you so much for taking time to read this and to help my students to become citizens of this world.
My Project
The materials I have requested will help me bring the French speaking world to my classroom. The magazines will allow the students to access current issues around the world during silent reading time and the other items will assist me in using the CI (comprehensible input) approach to language acquisition. This will allow students to use the language in an authentic way. Students will be able to access the language in a fun and meaningful way and will not be simply memorizing vocabulary. I’m so excited for the year and thank you so much for your help! It definitely takes a village.
