Bringing the Falcons Baseball Tradition Back

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are high school students. All of my students rank at or near the top of their class. We are a community academy, and my students are proficient in science and math. They also display an aptitude for technology.

Baseball is coming back after a two year absence.

We have a group of the boys at our school who are new to the sport. The agreement we have is that they must have the confirmation from all of their teachers that they are completing their classwork and are exhibiting appropriate behavior to be eligible to participate in team activities.

My Project

The training net, baseballs, and gloves will help our team develop baseball skills. Baseball is more about skills than about athleticism. These tools will allow our players to become more proficient through repetition. The Falcons have won multiple regional, sectional, and city championships. These training aids will give us the opportunity to develop the student athletes who don't have a lot of experience.

After a two year absence we look forward to being all we can be.

The bonus is that we can start guiding players to college again. We are more proud of the kids who go to college than we are of the ones who get drafted.
