I currently teach three 8th grade Mathematics sections that include students from various skill levels. My students include those who are considered advanced learners, general education students, inclusion, and special education students. It is my goal to reach and teach all of my students so that growth is achieved at all levels. Currently, a majority of the students in my district are classified as economically disadvantaged. That being said, the students have many outside influences which impede on the daily school life.
Making math fun again is an imperative part to engaging my students in the learning process.
I do what I can to supply my students with the basics, but I have turned to DonorsChoose for help in order to dedicate more time into the teaching and less into the stressing about whether or not we have enough materials to complete an activity. My students are I will be extremely thankful to all who considering helping us out!
Our classroom is in desperate need of the basics. We want to make Mathematics fun again and to do so we would like to bring the artistic side into everyday learning. By bringing these materials into our class we will be able to create an interactive foldable for each topic.
Let's face it eighth grade math can be hard and boring at times.
Especially for those who have a weak background. Students will now have the opportunity to achieve a deeper understanding by creating learning materials to use on an everyday basis for review and study components. All of these materials will allow students to create foldables that are engaging and educational!
