Learning about history in our modern world should be fun and exciting. Students are no longer limited to classroom textbooks for historical information and need access to online resources. Although my school provides wireless internet we need tablet computers to access these resources.
My students are awesome!
I teach 8th grade in a large urban district in Florida. The school is Title I and has a large population of economically disadvantaged students. As 8th graders my students are becoming independent thinkers and need access to materials and resources that reach beyond the textbook.
My Project
Teaching in today's classroom requires technology. Students will faced with working and learning with technology as adults. It is our job to make sure that they are prepared for the future. I am requesting a tablet computer to assist my students in accessing online resources. We are given one paragraph about people and events in our US History book, but through technology we can access thousands of credible resources and primary documents. Tablet computers offer many free learning applications and tools for learning such as a digital camera. Students can use the tablet to create multimedia presentation or other digital projects. I will use the tablet for individual and collaborative classroom learning. When studying major history topics students will be required to research in depth information and present heir findings to their peers.
My project is important because I want the best for my students!
My students deserve the opportunity to have access to modern technology that will assist them in utilizing the latest online resources.
