Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In my 4th Grade Classroom there is not much room to move around. Student desks take up a majority of the space. This year I am changing the way I have been teaching by using a document reader and a projector. I would like to have a laptop to connect to my projector to enhance learning.
The students at my school come from a diverse population.
We are located in a prestigious area; however few neighborhood children attend our school. We offer open enrollment to families from neighboring cities. Many of our students have both parents working and rely on us for not only their education but also personal growth. Many of them are not familiar with all the advances in technology that greater America is enjoying. Our students are hard-working and eager to learn.
My Project
My students will be able to easily access this laptop computer I am requesting because it is very light (3.5 lbs.) and will not need to be hooked up to an electrical outlet during school hours. The MacBook Pro has up to 9 hrs. of battery life on one charge. I will rotate its usage so my students can use it for research, reading comprehension, and problem solving. I will also hook it up to the projector at times to present my lessons in a more interesting and easy-to-follow format.
It will help my students by bringing technology to their fingertips.
I am hoping by learning what is available and how to access it, my students can enhance their learning as well as help their families embrace technology. The MacBook Pro can bring my lessons to life.
