Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Math can be magical! I help my Home bound and Hospitalized students connect STEM with real world hands on learning experiences. I make math magically in order to captivate my students by showing them that math is all around and that simply you need to learn how to see the magic in mathematics.
I teach mathematics to Hospitalized and Home bound students.
I teach secondary students who have medical conditions and can not attend their regular school settings. I teach mathematics but my student but they teach me that each day is precious and should never be taken for granted. I open my students eyes to seeing math in everything around them. Together we work to unlock the mysterious world of mathematics.
My Project
I will use the iPad and scholastic magazines to create a interactive learning environment in which my student can connect with other math students, teachers and students and work together on STEM based projects. We will be using the computer to help the students have access to virtual learning communities and software that will allow them to interact with each other. Students will work on daily math challenges, projects and develop their own math games. My aim is have students to create their own math community using technology. The student will use critical thinking skills to development math games, puzzle and projects. I also aim to have them learn the basics programming and coding.
These donations will give my students a platform to connect with others and explore the wonderful world of math in new and exciting ways.
It will provide my students with the skills they need to make a difference in the world. It will support them in the journey to complete their education. Many of them have aspirations of working in the medical field in order to help students battling illness much like themselves one day. They want to give back. Please help make their dreams a reality!
