My Spanish students are ranging from beginners in the language to native speakers. When learning a new language it is so important to immerse yourself in the culture and in as many authentic materials as possible to get the full experience.
What I love about my students is that since they are in high school, they have many different interests and passions that they have discovered and developed up to this point.
I love to be able to discuss new topics and see the different projects they can create based on their interests and their strengths all while learning a new language.
My Project
Recently, my Spanish 3 and 4 students approached me about creating their own stories in the target language with their ultimate goal being publication. Each year I have my Spanish 2 students create their own children's books in the target language. Now, with a majority of my classes creating their own stories to help others grow in their language learning, I would love to have the proper equipment for my students to create an audio form of their work, a way to create illustrations for their books, and even a way for them to create videos for read alongs for children, others learning a second language, and even ESL students.
