My students need resources to help them strengthen and build on their prior knowledge. This year I will be focusing on literacy as well as giving students opportunities to create language in authentic ways. We need a laminator and more.
My students in all grades are entering into their second year of Spanish. They made amazing progress last year not only in their ability to speak and understand, but in becoming enthusiastic and confident language learners. These children are bright, curious, and ambitious. They blow me away with how willing they are to take risks and make mistakes, help out their classmates, and come up with creative ways to remember new words and phrases.
My school is one of the few city public schools that offer Spanish at the elementary level.
Parents and administrators are very supportive of language learning and have been thrilled to see the students learn to express themselves in Spanish and have fun while learning.
My Project
The flashcards, bingo games, visual aids, and more will help students to remember core vocabulary and expand on what they know. The variety of books will help strengthen all students' Spanish reading skills, from emergent readers to native speakers. The practical materials will help me to be a more effective educator and preserve my materials for years to come.
My students learn best when participating in dynamic, interactive activities using visual aids, props, and games.
These materials will allow them to have fun and focus on communication while naturally acquiring essential language. I can't wait to see the students' excitement when they see all of the new materials we have to help them learn and grow!
