Bringing Some Creativity to English Language Arts

My Project

I have the pleasure of educating an awesome group of young people, typical high school students that are looking for ways to be "entertained" once they have completed their assignments in class. There are also those days right after an essay or reading a heavy text where a brain break is greatly appreciated, that is where the materials for this project come in.

The donations to this project will allow students to have access to a variety of activities that will allow them to have time to themselves, talk with purpose, and work together to complete a task.

The materials in this project were selected with the current shifts on social emotional health, collaborative learning, and meet the needs of student in mind. Puzzles, origami, and paper airplane kits will be used as group tasks, the friendship bracelets will be used during "free time", and the coloring books will be used for students that need time to themselves or when they need to talk and multitask.

As a teacher, I think it's important to find ways to break up the monotony of routines for a little fun during the year and I believe these materials are a step in the right direction.
