My Students

I teach a single gender classroom in a Title I school. My students come from various backgrounds, cultures, and countries. We do not have surplus of resources. While my parents are very involved they cannot always meet the demands for the extras. My students are very motivated to learn and as an educator I want to cultivate that in my students and set them up for a lifetime of learning. As the year progresses so do their needs and interests.

My first grade boys are amazing and would greatly appreciate your help.

My Project

These books and tablets offer students the on grade level texts they need to complete independent reading as well as partner reading. My students are on varying levels of reading. The reading project is meant to increase overall reading comprehension and fluency. Independent and partner reading will address all areas of successful readers. The students will complete hands-on activities with their partners and independent activities. These resources are used to build a reading library (digital and hard copies) that will continue to serve students needs and feed their desire to learn using texts. This project is meant to improve reading and close the existing gaps by using additional resources that are student selected.
