Welcome to 4th grade! We are from the official home of Superman, and I have a room of "super-students."
Many of my students' parents have not gone to college and live in poverty.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. Many of my students have limited resources available to them at home, making it more important than ever to provide them with necessary tools while at school.
My students need access to more nonfiction reading selections. These books will be used for various project based lessons through the year. One project based lesson the students will choose a person from the past to become an expert on. They will use these nonfiction selections to research facts and present the information to the class.
These new resources will also be used to compare and contrast people from history.
We will use these books across the curriculum to cover Science, Social Studies and Reading. Students will use these text to write extended response essay questions to get ready for state testing.
